Jonathan C. Hamilton, “Emerging Markets v. Emerging Democracies” (1998)

This article integrates four different essays analyzes aspects of the reform policies in Latin America in the 1990s, including a focus on the media and telecommunications sectors in Peru. It was supported in part by a Raven Fellowship from the Raven Society at the University of Virginia which facilitated work on the ground in Lima, Peru, for research and interviews with local lawyers, associations, journalists, and government officials.
